Our primary mission at Roncalli Newman is to invite you, the student, to know God in Christ, to enrich lives through prayer, to promote Christian values, and to educate for justice and peace.

We do this by providing student dinners, retreats, service opportunities, and more. Students, fill out the “Get Involved” form below to make sure you don't miss out!

Scholarship Opportunities

Nieckarz Memorial Scholarship

Aline Fournier Nieckarz was a woman ahead of her time. At a time in the 60's when women did not compete academically with men, she was a role model for women of science when she completed her Doctorate in Organic Chemistry. She was one of only two women in the graduating class of 1967. Fluent in French and German, and with a working understanding of Russian, she had a passion for learning that she passed on to her students. Aline was an active member of the Roncalli Newman Center and was quite involved with Newman student activities. A yearly favorite was an annual Newman fundraising auction. Being gifted at needlepoint, embroidery and quilt making, Aline got many a student involved in quilting for the auction. Those who knew her best say,"She was a source of strength for many of us and was positively influential as a member of the Newman community. She had discovered God's will for her life and passed on her love of the Lord to her family, Newman students and her many friends. She taught us all the precious joy that comes from loving and caring for others."

The Nieckarz Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a currently registered full-time Newman student parishioner in recognition of his or her participation in Newman Catholic Student programming.
