On the other hand, maybe living more simply makes the task easier. What Jesus is laying out here is good. If we can accept hospitality from those we encounter along the way, we can afford to travel lightly, without a lot of baggage to slow us down. Think for a minute of all the planning you put into a weekend getaway. Consider all the stuff you need just for a holiday.
Jesus wants us to know that spreading the good news is most important - the kingdom is at hand. That is the job of a disciple. Is it a good plan to sacrifice the good news for personal comfort? It seems a simpler prospect to accept the goodness offered for the work of being a disciple. SO, are you up for the task? Do you still want an application?
