Readings for today’s Mass
i know, for some, Lent is a time for practicing austerity of sorts. We cut back on things we enjoy, usually food; or we do less of what we really like or can't live without - social media. But Lent is a prep for some really good news, happy news. That is why pastors used to wear pink vestments for Mass instead of black. Recall the words from a preface once used to begin the Liturgy of the Eucharist for Mass during Lent: Father, each year, you give us this joyful season when we prepare to celebrate the paschal mystery with mind and heart renewed. This joyful season when we prepare to celebrate . . .
We're half way thru Lent. Don't forget about what is really going on. Rejoice!
