Readings for today’s Mass
We too seek Christ in our times of need, seeking him until we find Him, even through difficulty and frustration. The beauty in these times of worry and hurt is the fact that Christ understands our sorrows and offers his healing hand.
As we prepare for Christmas, let us prepare as though we too are seeking Jesus’ healing power. While we deal with the stress and busyness that can often distract us from the joy of the season, understand how our efforts will bring us the joy of Christmas.
Further, the key to fully receiving God’s grace during this season is using the gifts we have been given to glorify him. Just as the once paralyzed man got up, walked, and went on to glorify God, we too glorify him amidst our holiday celebrations.
Challenge yourself to truly reflect on the power of God this Christmas season, to truly understand the healing he offers. The sacraments can be a source of grace needed to help us along. Make it a point to avail yourself of the sacraments during Advent, especially the sacrament of Reconciliation. It's a good way to prepare to welcome Christ into a new heart this Christmas.
