Readings for today’s Mass
Sun and moon, bless the Lord; praise and exalt him above all forever.
Stars of heaven, bless the Lord; praise and exalt . . .
Every shower and dew, bless the Lord; . . .
All you winds, bless the Lord; . . .
Fire and heat, bless the Lord; . . .
Cold and chill, bless the Lord; praise and exalt him above all forever.
All of these things are mentioned in the Canticle and each address is followed with a benediction. It would seem that, for ever, the creatures have expressed gratitude and wonder at all that God has done. Yes, you will also find something similar in the Psalms and other books of the Old Testament.
For today, i invite you to spend some time with Daniel and the ancients in praise and thanksgiving for the goodness of the Lord. For Brothers Wind and Air, and fair and stormy, all the weather's moods. Even for the coming cold and winter snow!
