Readings for today’s Mass
Today’s gospel continues the post resurrection narrative of Jesus' encounters with the followers. It started with Mary of Magdala, weeping in the cemetery. Then it was the two disciples on their way to Emmaus. In each case, it was something unique to Jesus that opened grieving eyes to see him as he always was. For Mary, it was the intimacy of his greeting. For those gathered for supper, it was the way he blessed, broke and shared bread. Intimate moments with the Lord that remove all doubt as to who he is. We can all have a relationship of great intimacy with the Lord that removes doubt when we stand in his presence
What is unique about your relationship with the one who is risen? What moment of intimacy do you share with Jesus that opens your eyes and removes doubt when you are in his presence?
As we continue to celebrate the Easter festival in the weeks ahead, ask yourself if you want this level of intimacy with the Lord. Ask yourself if you are ready to invest in the relationship.
