Readings for today’s Mass
Over the past few days our Church has celebrated many feasts and recognized many amazing holy men and women. Today is simply the 2nd Friday of Advent. The message in almost all the readings is simple, clear, but so very important. The Church, in her wisdom gives us the gift of the Liturgical calendar. We can let its continuous circle just pass us by or we can let the season of Advent be a wakeup call for us on our spiritual journey. Today’s readings remind us that God has given us the true path to Him through His son Jesus. The readings also recognize that we will forget this and need a reminder. Advent IS that reminder! We are called during this very special season to remember the God of the universe, who loves us so very much, came down to Earth in the form of a human baby so that we may find our way back to Him.
Let these final days of Advent be a awake up call for you. What areas in your life are in need of the light of life? How can you draw closer to Him during this season in a way that will carry you onward through the liturgical year?
