Saint of the day - Our Lady of Guadalupe
Readings for today’s Mass
This is a day in which we acknowledge the pure beauty and wonderfulness of Our Mother of Guadalupe, Mary. In this time of preparing for Jesus to come into our lives, this is a time to honor the lady who brought Jesus into the world. She is a good example for all of us courage and faith when God calls upon us. Let us see how we might avoid that which turns us away from God rather than brings us closer.
This is a season of charitable works. During this holy season, you might offer some time to your favorite charity, such as ringing bells for the Salvation Army, helping serve food at the shelter, working at the warming center. It might be as simple as offering a smile to someone who is having a rough day. Through all these examples, try to act as Mary did, a humble servant of God and of others, even when we may not want to or when we are afraid.
During this advent season take time to better yourself, to have courage and strength like Mary did when an angel told her about bearing a child. Take time out of your day today to pray, listen and take courage in what God has planned for you. From this go out to the world and live your life as Mary did giving yourself to God and to others.
