Readings for today’s Mass
Because we like to make things difficult for ourselves, we start wondering about the ultimate definition of mercy. What does Godly mercy look like? we ask. Luke offers a good starting place for that as well. It begins with choices we freely make. Stop judging and condemning others, Luke tells us. Be forgiving, be generous with what you have. According to the Gospel of Luke, this is what can move us to be merciful as the Father is merciful. This is the road to perfection as God is perfect.
Lent is a good time to work on personal perfection. If you'd like more examples of the same, revisit Mt. 25. i assure you, it will free you of your dismay.
