Readings for today’s Mass
The Old Testament is filled with stories of God’s people returning to him. Time and again they go back to their wicked ways losing their faith in his promise but, like that umbrella God is right there waiting for them to come back and accept him and his gifts.
Our journey of faith is not so different. We doubt, we struggle, and we wander far from the path. Sometimes our faith challenges us. It might seem more attractive and easier to live a life contrary to how our faith calls us to live. We might even lose our faith at times. The truth is whether it is sunny or rainy, whether things in our life seem to be going well or we are a season of trial, we cannot travel this journey alone. God’s love for us, and his desire to be in relationship with us never changes. God is waiting for us, He knows our needs, and he knows our hearts. And unlike that umbrella his love lasts a lifetime and will never break.
