Tuesday, the 7th week of Easter
While these words might be somber, they reflect honestly the reality that we all have to deal with: death and "disappearance" for lack of a better term.
Offering Christians such directness serves them better than dancing around the stark reality. It is also a way of saying, "Okay, your turn! You have the Gospel; time to live it. You have the Holy Spirit, the Advocate. Let the fire of God's love burn in your heart and animate your actions."
We have been "disciples," meaning "learners." Well, it's time now to become teachers. Every college education major eventually "practice" teaches, but the real goal is to become the teacher.
Armed with Christ's Gospel and the strength and wisdom of the Spirit, our time has come.
