But really, the idea of servant leadership has been around for centuries. It's the response of the master in today's gospel. He is so pleased with the leadership shown by his servants that he become a servant himself and waits on his own servants.
Consider Jesus teaching a lesson in discipleship when he said to Peter: "Unless I wash your feet . . ." Good leaders lead by example. Sometimes, the best example is service.
Not everyone can do this. Some can only lead. Some are servant leaders by nature. Some are able to learn to be servant leaders, following the example of others.
Access you ability to be a servant leader. What might that look like for you? Is the master in today's gospel, or is Jesus' example attractive to you? As a disciple of Jesus, how might you model Servant Leadership?
