Other Christian traditions have other names for God. For example, if you travel the country you may find Elohim or Jehovah; if you travel the world you might find Maykapal (Creator) or Nkosi (King). Then there is a plethora of non-Christian names for God. Lord, which one do i pick!
i wonder if Moses, after speaking to God, went down the mountain frustrated and wondering what to tell the people when they asked who was up there - I Am Who Am? Who is that? What kind of name is that?
Maybe God has a good reason for keeping the door open on naming rights.Names that we use tend to define the object being named. By not having a name, we can each come to know God in a unique and special way, the way it works in any relationships, Sometimes nicknames are used because they describe how we've come to know the other.
When you call on God, do use a name or title? How does your name for God reflect the God you've come to know. Maybe you have many names for God, or maybe they change over time. How do they describe your relationship with God?
