When Jesus saws her, he took pity and raised he up. For the first time in years she was able to stand face to face with others; to look them in the eye. You would think this would be a time for a major happy dance - not? This is a big deal!
But instead of spontaneous revelry, the no longer bent over woman in our story was caught in the middle of two ideologies at war. One side saw Jesus' act of kindness as work, something forbidden on the Sabbath. For the other side, the resulting good that came from the work offset the fact that the work was done on the Sabbath. Jesus saw a suffering woman and chose to do something about it. i expect the standing tall woman wanted to tell both sides to go away so she could have a party.
Sometimes we can get so caught up in the process that we lose the good of the end result we are seeking. Anytime is a good time for doing good. There is no season for random goodness. While the present moment is the only time we really have, i hope you are doing something very good.
