How great a faith to be able to still see God in the midst of all this pain and loss. Job took all of it and turned it into an opportunity to humble himself before God. He was able to recognize God’s power in his ability to take everything away from him. Job affirms his faith that the Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord!
We can emulate Job by recognizing that everything we have comes from the Lord. Every moment, relationship, and opportunity is something to be taken advantage of and brought to its fullest potential. The talents he gives us, our abilities to go to school and participate in the freedoms of our country are things not to be taken for granted. The Lord is at the root of everything, which is why we should try to find him in everything.
The Lord, who gave us everything, can also take it away. In that sense, nothing that is given to us truly belongs to us. Everything we do should be for a greater purpose of bettering each other, ourselves, and increasing that faith that can save us.
God, help me today to recognize you in all things and fully invest in everything you have given me. Help my faith to be so great that I am unmoved when trials come my way. Help me to recognize that you are all I need. Help me humble myself and use this life for the greater good, for you.
